Nagoya is a city where ancient, traditional cultures and modern society coexist in beautiful harmony. The people of Nagoya are known to be friendly and relaxed but also has a big-city population of 2.3 million.
A modern, comfortable city with lots of luscious trees and conveniently located parks. One reason it is popular is because of a low cost of living as compared to Tokyo or Osaka. Nagoya is a vibrant city with an influential historical past. Also, coming soon in 2026, The 20th Asian Games, a multi-sport event, will be held in Nagoya and Aichi-Prefecture. Get ready for the excitement!
Like the famous city of Kyoto, Nagoya has a long history that is very important to Japan. Three notable feudal lords were born here; Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. A must-see for any visitor is Nagoya Castle. The castle and area has been recently renovated with modern shops and restaurants to enjoy the special crafts and foods of Nagoya, along with the immaculately kept grounds. Near the roof of the castle you can see two elaborately decorated, gold stylized dolphins crowning the endpoints, known as "kin-shachi" in Japanese and are a famous symbol of Nagoya.

Are you interested in Studio Ghibli' s Movies? Ghibli Park has just opened in the end of 2022, also there are some new areas that still under construction. Ghibli Park is in just near the Nagoya City, and you can visit there by bus or train easily. Even though there are no big attractions or rides in Ghibli Park, you can feel the Ghibli worlds slowly on foot.

Nagoya, actually has lots of things to do and see. There is the Tokugawa Art Museum and park with a beautiful Japanese-style garden, The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology where you can learn the history of Toyota Motor Corporation, Atsuta Shrine which has a proud 2000 years of history, the Osu area with many popular shops and hosts the World Cosplay Summit, the SCMAGLEV and Railway Park is a museum that introduces the advances in the high speed railway of Japan, the renowned public aquarium, a visitor friendly zoo, the recently built LEGOLAND® Japan Resort with 17 million LEGO bricks and 10,000 LEGO models and last but not least, the Sakae area, very popular with younger people to attend outdoor events, shop, eat, and have fun at places like Oasis 21, the TV tower, and famous department stores.
